The Return of TRACES 2026
What is TRACES? What dance is welcome?TRACES is a site-specific day of dance performances in and around the Waterfront Park area of Burlington! After taking a few years off post-pandemic, we are excited to be getting this going again, and to celebrate the amazing dancers in our state with this day of performances (ideally in the sun!)
5-15 minutes of anything family friendly!
As this is open to the public and free, all pieces must be family friendly!
❋ Fully choreographed piecesSolos or groups; it can be a piece that’s already completely developed, or make a new one.
❋ Works-in-progressBring a piece you are still in development, and share it in its current state to see how an audience responds.
❋ ImprovPut on some music, move, and see what emerges!
The Lake Champlain Navy Memorial behind Echo Center has a small grass and concrete pavilion leading up to the water with these sculptures. This will likely be either the starting or ending locaiton.
The majority of our performances will take place throughout Waterfront Park, right on the lake! When developing your piece, please let us know if there is any particular part of the park you would like to use, and we will do our best to accomodate!
At the other end will be the Moran Plant Frame, which has a large grass lawn and a lot of opportunities to dance in and around creatively!
